Board Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Board of Directors as outlined in Article IV, Section 7 of the Chapter Bylaws include the following.
All Board Members
- Attend the in-person Board transition meeting in July.
- Attend monthly Board teleconference meetings.
- Attend a minimum of seven general membership meetings.
- Use the Chapter’s association management software to maintain and share position-related information via the Chapter web site and email.
Board Chair
- Convene the annual Board transition meeting, monthly Board meetings, and June annual business meeting.
- Manage the Awards Committee.
- Manage the Nominations and Elections Committee.
This is a one-year term.
President
- Preside over general membership meetings.
- Serve as liaison between the Board and ARMA International and the ARMA International Educational Foundation.
- Promote the ARMA Live! Conference Scholarship.
- Manage the Audit Committee.
- Manage the Communications Committee.
This is a one-year term to be followed by a term as Board Chair.
First Vice-President, Programming
- Identify, contact, and schedule speakers for general membership meetings.
This is a one-year term.
Second Vice-President, Sponsorship
- Identify, contact, and secure payment from potential Chapter sponsors.
This is a one-year term.
Treasurer
- Prepare and present the Chapter budget at the annual Board transition meeting.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports at Board meetings.
- Receive and disburse Chapter funds.
- Provide required reports and forms to ARMA International, the IRS, and the State of Georgia.
- Manage the registration table at general membership meetings.
This is a one-year term.
Treasurer in Training
Under the guidance of the Treasurer, the Treasurer in Training may undertake any subset of duties outlined above.
This is a one-year term to be followed by a term as Treasurer.
Secretary
- Keep minutes of the annual Board transition meeting and monthly Board meetings.
- Monitor and promptly respond to Chapter inquires by emails.
- Manage the Archives and Library Committee.
This is a one-year term.
Director of Education
- Produce one paid and one free education event.
- Organize ICRM study sessions for Chapter members.
- Promote the Chapter CRM/IGP Examination Scholarship.
- Manage the Education Committee.
This is a two-year term.
Director of Membership
- Maintain a current membership list within the Chapter’s association management system.
- Represent Chapter in ARMA International recruitment and retention campaigns.
- Manage the Hospitality Committee.
This is a two-year term.
Director of Special Projects
- Organize one volunteer event and one donation drive.
- Host one social event for Chapter members.
This is a two-year term.
